A Question...

This is the "new" legion of Necrons I have inherited through nefarious means. I plan to have this army up for auction/raffle at the next GottaCon, but how should I paint them? The glowsticks will be glued in and painted (likely some osl thereabouts) with a darker scheme overall, I think. So I open the floor to you for any suggestions and ideas....
Until next round...

May I suggest something remeniscent of the fantasy Tomb Kings, something in a sandstone and lapis lazuli scheme perhaps? The standard silvery finish is so overdone, but perhaps a bronze or verdigris copper finish could be interesting as well... I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

perhaps a really dark metallic blue with bright evil red osl?

Sandstone is a good idea, although I'd want to stay away from the metallics, the red lighting sounds like a good idea...

I'd always wanted to paint my Necrons to look rusted, much like the Ogre Kingdoms' weapons. The orange-ish will stand out, but it'll still be dark and fun to paint. As far as the rods, the pulsing green would contrast greatly with the rustiness, but I'm thinkin' an ice blue or something. Just a suggestion. :-)

Rust effects are really cool, but I doubt that living metal would rust, it just doesn't feel right. I think I am leaning towards an Egyptian feel; blue, tan and gold.
