The Cash Clowns: Prototaurs

The Cash Clowns are backed up by Sgt Ramus and his prototaurs.  A prototaur is a gene-bred humaniod similar to minotaurs of ancient Earth myths, and very aggressive warriors.  Being open to negotiation that benefits them, the Clowns offer good employment and a chance at a life slightly better than slums or mines.  The humans among the Clowns look upon then as equals which in turn distil loyalty in Ramus' crew.
Sgt Ramus is Radius' second in command, and carries an old energy pistol as well as the standard chainsaw.
The colours are carried over from the Clowns done previously, which carried over well in my opinion.
The prototaur named Torch carries a flame thrower for some added firepower.
Most of the bitz are from Imperial Guard, Chaos Marines, and Beastmen.  The armour is sculpted on, these were practice until the mercs came calling.

And the other two....
Like the other Clowns, these guys have Brutal, 40k and nWo rules.  Multiverse win!!

Hope you liked them, Until next round!

The Cash Clowns

The Cash Clowns are a mercenary group who travel the galaxy hunting things for money.  They exist simultaneously in multiple universes (40k and nWo) but primarily in Brutal.  Brutal is a game being created by Swimming Eagle over at RHG, and the Cash Clowns are my contribution.
Some of you might have seen their AI units, IKE and the Hound droids and the old reference to "Smiley Face Mercs".  I'm happy to say that this band of misfits is being realized.
Left to right; average clown, Captain Radius, clown with huge chainsaw, and average clown.
These minis, as many of you can tell, are based on Necromunda gangers (Cawdor and Retribution) with some additional armour made with greenstuff.  There are still six more waiting on the shelf.
I tried to keep with a construction site theme to the colour pallet.  Deep reds with yellow contrasts and muted undertones.  Almost everyone gets a smiley face.
As recommended on a previous post, some of my 40k terrain will get vandalized, which is a great idea.  There will also be an entry or two in the nWo Grmoire.
In 40k, I'm sure I can use the henchman rules for organizing a squad and hire them out as an elite choice.

You guessed it, ran out of words to say.....

Until next round.

IKE's Little Friends

Haven't you always wanted some flying droids with magnetic acceleration guns? I have for a little while now. The merc army is where they belong.
I am starting off small, with the 'regular' sized ones. They get the usual treatment of smilies, hazard stripes and barcodes. I might keep repeating the random white lines, they seem sci-fi-y.
As far rules, well I haven't thought that far. Possibly jetbikes with 24" Str4 AP5 A3 guns? 3-5 in a Fast Attack squadron? No combat ability (WS2 Str3 A1) with a moderate Ld (7?) I will post the datasheet on Rabbit Hole sometime soon. (EDIT: I posted the rules HERE! Yay!)
All feed back is appreciated!

Warp Wednesday 23: On The Table

These are not the droids you are looking for, these are my three 'test'-droids for the mercenaries. I was recently acquainted with Imperial Armour 8 (the ork/elysian one) and got some funny ideas (sky talon for IKE? A dune-buggy driven by beastmen? lolz.....)
Meanwhile, elsewhere on the painting table these two have been threatening passers by, bunnies, mountains, paint, and pirate girls for a little while. Smash and Grab have had painted skin for a while, and then I started painting eldar...
Tony stands guard over the painting table, with his cheese wedges. Mmmmmm cheese....sorry, I just like cheese. 'Awesome' is defined as 'cheese and bacon' where I come from.
And lastly, due to greater range capacity, Marshal. This beastie is what I call a 'claymore' super heavy. It has a couple of missiles.

And that is what is on the painting table (or; very wip stuff). Happy Wednesday,
Ricalope.

GFR - IKE

After a long wait, I.K.E. is finally ready to conquer the tabletop. With plasma executioner in one hand, and thermal cannon in the other, he is one mean robot.
I intentionally left most of him dark, with the exception of the red and yellow, so the eye is drawn to the color and markings.
His base is really simple, but I think the result is effective, placing him in a warehouse/industrial setting.
Since I took these pics I have added some glowy green to the inside of the plasma as well as scorches on the other gun. He needed it.
I will be posting a datasheet for him on RHG.
Hope you like him, Ricalope.

What the....

The winner of the poll, to see what kind of cyber-beastie my mercenary captain will have as a pet, is a BEAR! Congratulations to all the bear supporters out there (you rhino people make me sad). Sadly, Phillip will not be the raging-death-machine in the army (shown above), it will be a very odd conversion/scratchbuild thing....
The Smiley Face Mercs got an odd little boost; beastmen. Just some hand-swapping with some chaos marines (with the arrow bits shaved off). The hands are cut at the 'glove' cuff and just above the bracer of the arm, then glued together. The chestplates are sculpted from putty (more needs to be done to the backs).
To complete the unit, a minotaur and a de-orkified trukk are needed...

GFR Update - IKE (2)

Firstly, my apologies for the lighting, will be working on that. Secondly, I.K.E. is ready for his metallics, which I usually leave for almost last so I can change my water and wash brushes.
He got a bit of weathering, mostly around his feet and lower areas, by stippling black and then boltgun. (A stipple brush is a short one used for 'mashing,' but this time I used a piece of foam, and I think I like the foam method better.)
As for greys. I began with a 50/50 mix of codex and black, highlighted with ironhull grey (p3 line), then codex.
I am very happy with the glowing effect on the plasma The green is a progression from dark angels, snot, scorpion then rotting flesh. Both the blue and the green still need washes, but they will be done after metallics (hopefully) extending the glowy.
A size comparison. That poor poet has no chance!
And a size comparison with an Inquisitor (and 'host). Although I am not very savvy on my Inquisitor rules, I thought it would be neat to have some rules for ]I[ I.K.E., anyone want to give it a go?

Until next time,
Ricalope.

A Killing Machine and an Engine of Destruction

I'm not sure which one is which, but first off is I.K.E.'s update.
His markings are done, and he is ready for some chipped paint.
As you can see, I.K.E. proudly displays his favorite blogs and band, as well as cautioning the smaller things.
I have decided that the smiley face will be a reoccurring symbol on my little band of mercs.
Also, after a daemon-killing spree, I decided to do some touch-ups on Autarch Jaher. This merciless killer deserves it.
He was one of the first to be painted for Apseraph, so he needed many washes as well as the turquoise. Like most battle-hardened eldar, he also has a few chipped gems, so those were painted green (instead of the usual blue). Overall I think he looks much better now and ready for tournament tables.
The warp spiders will be next, Jaher's venerable bodyguard.
Until next post,
Ricalope.
